Ghastly Panic

Ghastly Panic

Ghastly Panic is a horror-inflected display font designed by Sinister Fonts in 2005, hand-lettered while watching the remake of “Dawn of the Dead”. The letters have a jagged, unsettling quality that feels like something between a scream and a scrawl, with irregular heights and distressed edges that give the typeface an intentionally chaotic energy.

The font works well for projects that need a deliberately unsettling or gothic mood: horror movie posters, Halloween designs, album covers, creepy game interfaces, or any layout where you want text to feel slightly wrong or menacing. It reads as hand-drawn and raw rather than polished, which works in its favor for designs that value attitude over refinement.

Ghastly Panic is best suited to headlines and short runs of text where its aggressive letterforms can make an impact. For designers building horror-themed projects or seeking a typeface with genuine visual unease, it delivers the goods without irony.
